One tradition that we usually look forward to every spring is Senior Rip day. For some reason, our cadet colonel decided that it was inappropriate. Why? He didn't want to do it at a formation where the flag is being saluted, which is understandable. But what other time is the entire regiment formed up besides Revilie or Friday parade? Typical marine, always messing things up ....

Silly Arty Boy....the Corps doesn't need to be formed up for Senior Rip Day to happen.....some of my best memories involve seeing Seniors getting jumped by their friends in the mess hall and getting ripped to pieces....use your imagination and have fun with it!

Yeah, I remember that for some reason, no senior cadet ever got away from that unscathed. You don't need a formation to rip someone's clothes off....

Funniest thing I ever saw was the Alpha Co. Drill Sergeant from my freshman year get tackled in the mess hall. His shirt got ripped open, and he had a bra on under it...MAD funny!

I got jumped on my way to class. One of my friends saw me, and he put his pocket knife to use. I knew what day it was and had shorts under my uniform, which turned out to be a very wise idea. If it could be cut off, it was, including my shoe laces. When he was finished, it looked like I went through a paper shredder. Since I was on my way to class, I didn't have time to change, and my professor was slightly concerned about my health as I walked in the door while the class was laughing. Later that day an announcement came down that "thou shalt not go to class in ripped uniforms."

I think senior rip day was awesome. I can remeber trying to not get my arm ripped off. It was just another step to bring seniors close to graduation!

sr rip day is just another example of a harmless tradition that the puzzle palace wants to do away with. i looked forward to that day my sr year. unfortunately it was still balls cold our day, but hey, it made it more memorable. -balgos
