There comes a time in Northfield when the pent-up frustration and stress of an entire class manifests itself in a mass-streaking around the Upper Parade ground.
Memorable stories?

When I ran the up 500 during my sophmore year as that Freshman who traditionally ran the UP 500 were banned in 1998 so we made up for it as class in 1999. All I can say is I'm still tracking down pictures of me from the night! Anyhow great tradition and I hope it never dies!

UP 500 was great white socks, boots, skull caps, and the upperclass trying to hit you with snowballs. I think it is one of the funniest memories of the 'wich. I also remember advising my freshmen that they should "not" do it

jglas...bullnuts. you did not "advise" us NOT to do it. you pretty much asked us why we weren't already out there running it. then when we came back you 'happened' to not know where our robes were? not that those types of things aren't good memories ;-) balgos

In 1979, the tradition was that all freshman would run the UP with nothing but their boots on. This would happen on the first snowfall of your freshman year. Upperclassmen would come out with the water buckets thus adding to the chill of the night. My rook brothers and I were not forced to do the run; we were merely informed of the tradition.
