Justin Goulet has been named as strength and conditioning coach and wellness director at Norwich University, announced Tony Mariano, director of athletics at Norwich.
Goulet, a native of Royalton, VT, comes to Norwich after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Rhode Island. Goulet also worked with the strength and conditioning program at Siena College.
At Norwich, Goulet will work designing and monitoring strength and conditioning programs for varsity athletic teams, and will work to design and operate wellness programs for the entire Norwich community.
"I am pleased that we have been able to add the strength and conditioning coaching position, and Justin in particular, to our staff," said Mariano. "Having a full-time staff member who can manage our fitness center and run programs for our student-athletes, students, and staff will be a tremendous enhancement to our athletic and wellness programs."
"Justin's experience with Division I athletic programs will be of great benefit to our student athletes as they prepare for their seasons. Working with Justin should give our athletes an edge in conditioning and in injury prevention," said Mariano.
"I am excited to be back in Vermont and to have the opportunity to work at Norwich," said Goulet. "I am looking forward to creating strength and conditioning programs that will give athletes at Norwich the opportunity to perform at their peak levels. Norwich has great coaches on their staff, and I can't wait to work with them."
